About Us
WELCOME
The Neural Science department was founded not too long ago, at the brink of a new millennium. While it is quite young for an NYU department, it has been going on strong. Let's rewind.
NYU was founded in 1831. Augustine's Psychology, in the School of Pedagogy was born 8 years later, but renamed to the "Department of Psychology" in 1922. The Center for Neural Science, arguably a progeny of age-old Psychology, was born in 1989.
Subsequent to this, the Society for Undergraduate Neural Science found a place in the University too–a club for the scientific creatives and the brain enthusiasts. This is SUNS.

RESEARCH
Undergraduate research is not only an activity that enriches students academically but personally and intellectually. It allows for many to strengthen mere textbook material into skill and adeptness. As one journey's through college, they may begin to realize that reading and studying alone can not prepare them for full competency, but hands-on involvement as often seen in laboratories or clinical practices.
Thus, research–wether wet lab, dry lab, basic or applied– has been an ongoing interest of ours for our members. We have coordinated events to support this interest, but in the meantime please seek the sources that are offered below.
If you are interested in CAS-bound Neural Science laboratories, you can contact the professors on the list provided here.
